Transformation Agenda

APPEND’s Transformation Agenda is to see Filipino families in poor communities rise above poverty, experiencing God’s plan for an abundant life as they experience the saving grace of Jesus Christ, applying His principles in the way they work, manage relationships and resources, help one another grow in their knowledge and personal walk with the Lord and being able to help others do the same.

APPEND believes that spiritual transformation needs to take place to bring about deep seated changes in beliefs, values, attitudes, actions and relationship structure in the lives of the poor. This will be manifested in terms of betterment of economic, political and social behavior of an individuals, families, communities and organizations that will give way to an abundant life among the poor (i.e. abundance does not only mean physical abundance but a positive change in the outlook of life).

APPEND recognizes however:

* That transformation is the work of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit
* That to be effective in facilitating transformation, the person himself should be going through spiritual development and transformation experiences:

» S/He needs to personally encounter and experience the saving grace of Christ
» S/He need to be established in Christian basics (The Word, Prayer, Fellowship and Witnessing)
» S/He needs to progressively develop commitment to Christian values and discipleship in the marketplace

* The value of developing a lifestyle of faith and obedience to Christ

APPEND will continue to raise a movement of MED practitioners committed to Kingdom building and spiritual transformation. Specifically,

A. develop strong program for spiritual development so that its people may continue to grow in wisdom, capability and commitment – fully equipped   to facilitate the total transformation of the poor.

B. develop people with moral integrity in terms of ethical standards, practices and habits.

C. equip the leadership and staff in knowing Christ and making Him known.

D. equip the microentrepreneurs and their children, in turn, to also share the saving knowledge of Christ with their families and communities.

E. mainstream spiritual transformation into the operations, values and culture of the MED  institutions and translate transformation in the context and reality of the people being helped.

F. maintsteam spiritual transformation into the families being helped, being able to build Scriptural homes for the Philippines.

"He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and HE will reward him for what he has done."
