APPEND is motivated by Jesus Christ’s call to serve the poor. The APPEND Network board and management staff believe that the Kingdom of God is a kingdom of expansion and not of limitation. Thus, APPEND plans to grow its client base to 5 million poor by 2015. This expansion plan is not for fame nor fortune but for the less privileged Filipino households to experience the fullness of life that God intends for all.
The APPEND Network was founded by Christian businessmen from the Philippines. In 1991, the APPEND organization was registered with the Philippines’ Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) as non-stock, non-profit organization with a registry number of 186944. APPEND was also accredited by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC) as a credible donee institution.
APPEND specifically exists for the purpose of:
- Facilitating the growth and viability of its partner organizations as well as the continuing development of the poor microentrepreneurs, their families and communities.
- Strengthening the technical competence, leadership and spiritual health of the staff, their clients and the children of the microentrepreneurs by continuously developing simple and easy to understand tools, training and devotional materials and by conducting regular training, conferences and research in micro-enterprise development (MED) and spiritual transformation.
- Undertaking evaluation and audit for and in behalf of its partner organizations.
- Coordinating the mutual accessing of resources, information and technology for the benefit of the poor communities in the country.
